September 20 –TEX-MEX  with all the trimmings.   Hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary Stallings-Williams Post 206 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. this is a meal you won’t soon forget. September 20 – KARAOKE AT THE LEGION.  Join us for a good time from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.  at the American Legion Stallings Williams Post 206 in the Lower Level Lounge. September 21 – The Calvert County Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division, is hosting a free paper shredding event for county residents Saturday, Sept. 21, 8 a.m. to noon, at Appeal Landfill located at 401 Sweetwater Road in Lusby. The shred event, held rain or shine, can help prevent identity theft by destroying confidential or sensitive documents. All paper must be removed from plastic bags and cardboard boxes. Paper clips and staples are acceptable. Binders and binder clips are not acceptable. There is no limit per resident and proof of residency is required. Certificates of destruction will be provided if requested. 2020 Census Preparation – As a normal part of the 2020 Census preparation and data collection process you will notice census takers in the neighborhood. Census field representatives are currently doing address canvassing for Calvert County and across the United States. The representatives also continue to collect information for the American Community Survey (ACS) and other ongoing surveys.
