2018 Moonlight Cruises – The Town of Chesapeake Beach invites you to spend a summer evening cruising aboard “Miss Lizzy,” docked at Rod ‘N’ Reel Marina. Miss Lizzy is sixty-five feet long and carries 65 passengers.  We are offering three cruise dates for Summer 2018; Saturday, June 16 from 7 – 9 pm, Friday, July 20 from 7:30 – 9:30 pm and Friday, August 25 from 7 – 9 pm. The cost is $32 per person.   Although children are welcome, these cruises are more suited for adults. Tickets are available at Town Hall if paying with cash, check or credit card. The Waterpark is looking for Lifeguards – The Chesapeake Beach Water Park is currently hiring Lifeguards for the 2018 Season. Being a Lifeguard at the CBWP is a wonderful way to spend your summer and we offer Lifeguard certifications through our Water Park. All Lifeguards must be 15 years old by May 26, 2018. IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR STARS & STRIPES SUNDAY FUN DAY on May 27th. Due to the ongoing heavy rains, the Sunday events will be held in the parking lot at Kellam’s Field. Parking will be available at the North Beach Volunteer Fire Dept. with shuttle busses available between the firehouse and Kellam’s Field, as well as the Water Park.

CONTEST!! You could be the winner of this year’s Stars and Stripes Festival’s Mystery Guest Artist Contest by guessing the name of the headline entertainer for this year’s Family Fun Day. The winner will receive a $500 gift package for an overnight stay at the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa.

May 26–Meatball Subs – Hosted by the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. this is a meal you won’t soon forget. Come to the lower level dining room.  Cost is $12 including sides and beverage.  The Post is on Route 260 in Chesapeake Beach and questions may be directed to 410-257-9878.  Public warmly invited.

May 27 – Stars & Stripes Family Fun Day Picnic Lunch. Provided and served with the compliments of your American Legion Stallings Williams Post 206 Family at 12:00 Noon

May 28 – Veterans Memorial Day Ceremony.  Conducted by the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206, Les Griffith, Commander, the ceremony will commence at 10:00 a.m. at Veterans Park in Chesapeake Beach.   Thereafter the Commander will hold an Open House at the Post on Rt. 260 in Chesapeake Beach.  All are invited.  410-257-9878 www.ALPost206.Org .  3:00 p.m. National Moment of Silence.

June 2 -10 AM OYSTER RELOCATION. CBOCS is moving oysters from Fishing Creek to the Chesapeake Bay. The location is Abner’s Boat Yard. Need 25+ volunteers to unload cages, count spat, scrape cages and take the oysters to the bay. GREAT 3 HOUR HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT. Pizza served as usual.

June 2, 5 pm – 7 pm – Bayfront Park Nature Walk & Talk Series: The Coastal Geology of Calvert Cliffs and Bayfront Park Beach (rain date, June 3, 5 – 7 pm) — Join Chesapeake Beach’s own Dr. Ken Rasmussen, Professor of Geology at Northern Virginia Community College, as he describes the dynamic geological forces that formed the cliffs and continues to shape them to this day. Event suitable for ages 13+, minors must be accompanied by responsible adult. No pets. The event is free but registration is required as group size will be limited to 15 people.
