END HUNGER BIKE RIDERS will be coming through Chesapeake Beach Saturday morning, April 29 between 7:30 – 10 am. Please watch for them as you travel throughout our community!

Great news from the Chesapeake Beach Water Park for 2017!  Due to the Calvert County Schools closing earlier than originally planned, the Chesapeake Beach Water Park is going to open on WEEKDAYS earlier than originally planned! We will of course be open on weekends starting Memorial Day Weekend but then we will open on WEEKDAYS starting Friday, June 9th! Fishing Creek Bridge UpdateOn Sunday, April 30 and Monday, May 1 Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration will pave the approaches to the Fishing Creek Bridge on MD 261 in Chesapeake Beach. The NIGHT paving work will require a single lane closure, with a flagging operation, for the two evenings between the hours of 8:00p.m and 5:00am. All work is weather permitting.

April 29 from 10:00am – 1:00pm – Bayfront Park Community Clean-up. In honor of last week’s Earth Day and to help prepare the Bayfront Park beach and boardwalk for the 2017 summer season, the Town of Chesapeake Beach is sponsoring a community clean-up event at the park. Please join us and help keep the town beautiful and our natural areas trash free. We will meet at Bayfront Park beach. Water, gloves, rakes, trash grabbers, and trash bags will be provided. May 10 at 7 pm – Planning and Zoning Meeting at Chesapeake Beach Town Hall

May 13 from 7:30 – 9:30am – Bayfront Park Nature Walk & Talk: Our Feathered Friends. Join Mikey Lutmerding, biologist, naturalist and premier birder of the mid-Atlantic region, on a bird identification walk through Bayfront Park where he will help you see, identify and learn a little bit about the natural history of the many resident and migratory song birds sharing our community park. Dress for the weather and be prepared to walk, at a leisurely pace, up to two miles. Bring Binoculars, birding field guide, and water. Event suitable for ages 12+, minors must be accompanied by responsible adult. The event is free but pre-registration is required since group size will be limited to 15 people. Food will be available for purchase. Bring your quarters and appetite for a night of fun! Proceeds benefit the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
